My Brief Autobiography.

MY BRIEF AUTOBIOGRAPHY

My name is Halasan Marihot Siagian, means: The pleasure that is bind.  I was born in Pebruary 3, 1945 at Baribatali, Sigumpar-Porsea, North Sumatra.

I was six years old when my parents moved to Rantauprapat and I  sudied there until Senior High School level (SMA).  After I graduated, I din’t continue my education to the next level because of financial matters.  Since that time, at the end of 1965, I started to wander to Pekanbaru, Riau Province and tried to find a job.

Finding a job was not easy as I had thought previously because of lack of relations and limitation in education.  But with God’s help, I had  a job in the administrasion of Delta Exploration which operated in Pekanbaru, Lirik and Pendopo, South Sumatra.

Praise the Lord, in Pendopo (a small town in South Sumatra) I met with a beautiful girl and then we married in 1969.  Then, I returned to Pekanbaru with my wife and still worked there until 1970.

In September 3, 1970, God gave us a first child, a son named him  Joint Esthon.  In the last year of 1970, when our son was about three months old we departed to Bandung to continue my education at the Adventist University sponsored by my brother in law, brother Akhmad Thona.  I took the Ministerial Education (in Theologia) for 4 years and graduated in 1974.  When I  studied there in Cisarua, Bandung God gave us twin daughters in 1972, their names  Veraline Edwina and Veryuna Maureen.  After I graduated in 1974, we were placed in Palembang, South Sumatra, I was an Intern Pastor in Lorok Pakjo and Sekojo SDA Church.

Praise God, because He gaves us again in Palembang one more daughter in 1975 and we called her name Persis Triposa.

In 1976 we moved to Kotabumi, North Lampung and became a District Pastor for one year, and in 1977 moved again to Pangkal Pinang, Bangka Belitung as a District Pastor there until 1978. After I served four years in the field as a pastor, in January 06, 1979, I was anointed as a pastor/priest and also after that, directly I had been appointed as a Publishing Department Director, South Sumatera Mission of SDA until 1984.  After I served as Publishing Departemen Director in South Sumatera Mission of SDA for seven years, we moved again to Bandung as Publishing Departement Director,  West Java Mission of SDA in 1985.  After I served three years I was promoted and become an Associate of WIUM Publishing Department Director in 1988 until 1991.

In 1992 we moved to Surabaya and became Publishing Department Director of  East Java Mission until 1993.  Then we moved again to Jakarta Conference and I was  Church Pastor from 1994 until 2002.

In 2003 I was promoted again and became Publishing Departemen Director of Jakarta Conference until 2008.

And then from 2009 until 2010, I served as a pastor at Nazareth Church.

In 2011  enjoyed retirement after more than 36 years serving in God’s ministry.

Here’s a brief history of my life experiences in the work of the Lord.  Thank God for the breath of life that is given to us until today.

Thank you.
